Rain, rain, go away...More games postponed in NVL tourneys

Torrington softball and baseball will have to wait yet another day to get their Naugatuck Valley League Tournament quarterfinal games in.
THS athletic director Janet Giampaolo forwarded an e-mail from Naugatuck AD Tom Pompei, which states that everything is off except for the NVL Track and Field Championships at Woodland Regional High School. That meet was scheduled to start at 1:30.
According to the e-mail, No. 2 Torrington softball will play No. 7 Wolcott at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at Naugatuck High School. If the Lady Raiders win, they will face the winner of No. 3 Woodland and No. 6 Ansonia at 5 p.m. at Naugatuck. The Hawks and Chargers are scheduled to pick up their game at 3 p.m. at Woodland. Their game is 12-6 Woodland in the bottom of the fourth.
According to the e-mail, No. 8 Torrington baseball is scheduled to face No. 1 Derby at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Naugatuck High School. If the Raiders win, they would face Watertown at approximately 6 p.m., or 30 minutes after the conclusion of the THS-Derby game, whichever one comes first.
The finals for softball and baseball are to be announced.
According to the Waterbury Republican-American web site, the NVL girls tennis individual tournament will not start until Friday at Woodland. Semifinals and finals are scheduled for Saturday.
