I’m working on a neat story tonight.
Jerry Robinson, 55, of Torrington was out playing nine holes of golf at
Eastwood Country Club with his son Max, 22, on Father’s Day. Max,
who is just getting back into the game, drove the green and two-putted
for a birdie on the par-4 fifth hole. Jerry stepped up to the par-3
sixth hole, which was playing at about 140 yards. Jerry took a Callaway
7-iron, backed off the ball, then readdressed it and took an easy swing.
Max told his dad that the ball was going in the hole right after he
made contact, but Jerry didn't believe. The ball struck the green and
did indeed into the cup for a hole-in-one. Look for more on this story later tonight.
