Torrington softball's season ends with quarterfinal loss to Brookfield

One of the best years in Torrington softball's program history came to a close this afternoon with a 5-1 loss to Brookfield in a Class L quarterfinal at Torrington High School. The Lady Raiders finished the year with a 21-4 record. The Bobcats were able to hit the ball off of THS sophomore pitcher Sydney Matzko, including a solo home run and an RBI double. The Raiders were unable to get their bats going until the bottom of the sixth.
Still, this season could be the start of something big for Torrington. Included in the link is a video interview with shortstop Mollie Bartles, the lone senior on the team.
